It is a process that provides legal protection for an invention within the borders of Turkey. This process grants the inventor the right to produce, use, sell or import his invention for a certain period of time (Patent 20 years, Utility Model 10 years).

Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT) It is legally protected within the borders of Turkey by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Authority. This registration grants exclusive rights to the inventor and prevents unauthorized use of the invention.

 

Foreign Patent/F. Model Registration:

It is a process that provides international protection for an invention. This process grants the inventor the right to produce, use, sell or import his invention in more than one country for a certain period of time (Patent 20 years, Utility Model 10 years).

Foreign Patent Application and Registration Systems

Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Application:

The Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) offers the possibility to seek patent protection in 157 member countries with a single international application1. The PCT application optimizes costs and saves time. The application is filed through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and proceeds through the national/regional phase.

European Patent (EP) Application:

An application under the European Patent Convention (EPC) is filed through the European Patent Office (EPO). If this application is examined and approved by the European Patent Office, it becomes valid in the countries that are parties to the European Patent Convention. The EP application provides broad protection in Europe.

Eurasian Patent Application:

An application filed through the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) is valid in the countries that are parties to the Eurasian Patent Convention. This system provides broad protection in the Eurasian region with a single application.

African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) Application:

ARIPO offers a patent registration service for certain countries on the African continent. This application is filed through ARIPO and is valid between member countries.

Organization for African Intellectual Property (OAPI) Application:

OAPI offers a patent registration service for certain countries in West and Central Africa. This application is filed through OAPI and is valid between member countries.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Patent Application

An application filed through the GCC Patent Office is valid in the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. This system provides broad protection in the Gulf region with a single application.
